Hello, I’m Kelly Jarvis.

I support individuals experiencing grief and loss, offering a compassionate space to gently explore and process what they are moving through.

My Approach & Professional Background

I am a Grief Tending Practitioner and Yoga Therapist, offering an embodied and compassionate approach to supporting people through grief and loss.

I have completed Grief Tending training with Nikki Harrison, which has deeply informed the way I hold and facilitate spaces for grief. I also hold a Level 7 Diploma in Yoga Therapy with The Minded Institute and have completed over 900 hours of professional training across yoga, yoga therapy, grief tending and embodied practices.

My work is not talking therapy, psychotherapy or clinical counselling. While there is space to talk, share and be heard, Grief Tending is an experiential and body-based approach. Depending on the individual, our work together may incorporate somatic practices, breathwork, meditation, gentle movement, ritual and reflective practices.

My intention is to offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space where grief can be acknowledged and explored without pressure to fix, change or move on from what you are experiencing.

Where someone's needs fall outside my professional scope, I may recommend seeking additional support from an appropriately qualified counsellor, psychotherapist or healthcare professional.

“I first worked with Kelly about two months after my mum passed away.I was in a very deep state of grief, feeling very lost and suddenly Kelly arrived.it was as all very serendipitous . I was recommended by a friend who happened to find her and thought she'd be the perfect person for me to work with and it all worked out so beautifully.

I felt very comfortable with Kelly straight away. I knew that she'd walked the walk. she'd been through loss herself and she knew how I was feeling and she held the sessions so gently and so perfectly and kelly gave me what I needed each session.

I really, appreciate all that she did, whether it was the chanting, bringing me poetry, doing breath work together, journaling, everything.

I love the fact she listened to me honour my mum,and gave me things to do between the sessions that really helped.

kelly was always there for support.I really recommend the sessions to anyone going through grief, mine was very raw, but I know that grief never goes away.So whatever stage of grief you're in, I know that Kelly would be really helpful.

I really will forever be grateful for all the support she gave me at a very, very difficult time in my life.”

“My first four sessions with Kelly have been a gentle exploration of my grief and the somatic symptoms I felt I needed help with. Kelly drew on things I loved in my own Yoga practise and lifestyle to build a space in which I felt held, heard and that my special person was also very much with us in our hearts and minds.

Through the beautiful vibration of sound and in the echo of the silence after the sound, I found my person, I found moments of peace.

I am so looking forward to our forthcoming sessions, knowing that they will be bespoke to me and the individuality of my grief, with Kelly’s incredible empathy and beautiful voice at the heart of the sessions.”

“I was so nervous for our first session, I had no idea what to expect. And I remember leaving thinking how incredibly wonderful you are. How you listen so deeply. Validate and hold space for me. And the words you say just flow out so naturally and you always just say the right thing. In every session. It was so lovely to hold a ceremony in memory of my dad. And to feel the deeply healing power of meditating, breath work, somatic tools, movement. And just to have chats with you too, you're so easy to talk to and so kind. I was so happy to just go with the flow of your knowledge and experience. Thank you again Kelly”

What Does a Grief Tending Session Look Like?

Every grief tending session I offer is completely bespoke to the individual.

There is no set formula for grief, and there is no single way that a session needs to unfold. We begin by gently exploring what is present for you and what you may need on that particular day.

Rather than focusing only on talking about your grief, our sessions may weave together a range of supportive and embodied practices, including:

  • Breathwork and meditation

  • Journaling and reflective practices

  • Somatic movement and body-based awareness

  • Mantra and sound

  • Yoga philosophy

  • Restorative and grounding practices

  • Grief rituals and practices for expression

  • Space for conversation, reflection and simply being with what is present

Some sessions may involve more talking and reflection, while others may be quieter and more body-based. You are never expected to practise anything that does not feel right for you.

My intention is to create a compassionate, non-judgemental space where your grief does not need to be fixed, rushed or explained. Instead, we gently make space for what is here and explore practices that can support you in tending to your grief in a way that feels appropriate for you.
